Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Oppo.Works (Oppo), the league scheduling and operations platform available at https://www.oppo.works (the "Service"), operated by Oppo ("we", "us", or "our").
1. Who these Terms apply to
Different parts of these Terms apply depending on how you use the Service. We describe three audiences:
- Public visitors — anyone who views a league's published public site or calendar feeds without signing in. Public visitors do not have a license with Oppo; they receive a limited permission to view published content as described below.
- Participants — families, coaches, and other invited end users who access schedules, communications, or optional self-service features (such as availability) because a licensed league enrolled or invited them. Participants are not Oppo customers and do not license the platform directly.
- Licensed customers — leagues and districts (and their administrators acting for them) that use Oppo under a plan or other arrangement with Oppo. The billing and license relationship sits with the league or district organization.
By accessing or using the Service in any of these ways, you agree to the parts of these Terms that apply to you.
2. The Service
Oppo helps youth sports leagues and districts manage schedules, rosters, facilities, family portals, volunteer assignments, and related league operations. The Service includes distinct surfaces, including:
- public league sites and calendar feeds that a league chooses to publish;
- family and participant portals for invited households and end users;
- league and district workspaces for administrators and staff.
Features may vary by plan, configuration, and beta availability.
3. Licensed customers (leagues and districts)
When a league or district uses Oppo, access is under a plan or license between Oppo and that organization (the "Customer"). Customer administrators choose features, invite staff, configure family or participant access, decide what to publish publicly, and send communications through the Service where enabled.
Customers are responsible for the accuracy of data they upload, obtaining any required consents from families and participants, complying with their own policies and applicable laws, and deciding what schedule or program information appears on their public site. Customers remain responsible for verifying schedules and communications before relying on them or publishing them. The plan and billing relationship sits with the league or district; families and other participants are not charged by Oppo. For a plain-language summary of how leagues use the platform and each party's responsibilities, see the League acknowledgement.
Customers may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate Customer access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service.
4. Participants (families and invited end users)
Participants access the Service because a licensed Customer invited or enrolled them—for example through a family portal magic link or staff invitation. Participants may view schedules, receive league communications sent through the Service, and make optional updates the Customer enables (such as household contact details, weekly availability, or volunteer shift claims).
Participants are not licensing the platform and have no separate subscription with Oppo. Their primary relationship for program rules, roster data, and league policies is with their league or district; Oppo provides tools on the Customer's behalf and is not the program authority. Published schedules and messages may change or contain errors; confirm material details with your league when needed.
5. Public access and published content
When a Customer publishes a public league site or calendar feed, public visitors may view that content without an account for personal, non-commercial use (including ordinary use in a browser or calendar client). The Customer decides what is public; Oppo hosts and displays it. Published information may change or contain errors; Oppo is not the program authority—confirm material details with the league when needed.
Public availability is not a grant to scrape, bulk-download, mine, resell, republish at scale, build competing datasets, or otherwise commercially aggregate published schedules or feeds. Oppo may rate-limit requests, block abusive automation, enforce robots and similar controls, and take other steps to protect Service capacity and integrity.
6. Private Beta
Oppo may be offered in a limited or invite-only private beta. Features, availability, capacity, and pricing may change during beta. Expressing interest—such as submitting a request on our sign-up or contact forms—does not create a license, guarantee access, or establish a Customer relationship. When Oppo provisions a league or district, the Licensed customers terms and the League acknowledgement apply to that use.
7. Accounts and eligibility
Where the Service requires an account or session (including password-based staff accounts and family portal sessions), you must provide accurate information and keep credentials or access links secure. Customer administrators are responsible for inviting staff and configuring access within their organization. Public visitors may use published pages without an account, subject to these Terms. You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law.
8. League-administered data
Customers enter and control roster, household, coach, player, schedule, and contact information for their programs. Customer administrators are responsible for the accuracy of that data, obtaining any required consents from families and participants, and complying with their own policies and applicable laws. Participants who submit optional updates (such as availability) do so for use by their league through the Service.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes;
- attempt to access data, accounts, or non-public surfaces (including league workspaces, district tools, or platform administration) you are not authorized to access;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by automated scraping, bulk harvesting of public schedules or calendar feeds, circumventing rate limits, or other abuse;
- use published public content for commercial aggregation, resale, or competing datasets without permission;
- upload malicious code or content that infringes others' rights.
10. Intellectual property and licenses
We retain ownership of the Service, software, branding, and documentation. Customers and participants retain ownership of content they submit.
- Customers grant Oppo a limited license to host, process, display, and transmit their content solely to provide the Service, including public publishing and family or participant notifications they enable.
- Participants grant Oppo and their league the limited rights needed to operate features they use (for example, storing and displaying availability or contact updates).
- Public visitors receive a narrow, revocable permission to view published pages and feeds for ordinary personal use—not a license to copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit that content beyond normal browser or calendar-client use.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for scheduling errors, missed games, or decisions made by leagues using the Service.
Accuracy; errors and omissions. Schedules, events, assignments, locations, weather-assisted suggestions, availability signals, calendar feeds, public pages, and notifications may contain errors, delays, or omissions. Oppo does not warrant the completeness, timeliness, or fitness of any particular schedule or message. Customers are responsible for reviewing and correcting published and operational data before relying on it. Participants and public visitors should treat published schedules and messages as informational and confirm material details with their league when needed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oppo is not liable for missed games, travel, volunteer conflicts, or other consequences of inaccurate or incomplete information—whether from Customer input, automation, generation, publishing, or delivery failure.
12. Customer indemnification
Licensed customers agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Oppo and its operators from and against claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) the Customer's data and content; (b) the Customer's failure to obtain required consents; (c) what the Customer publishes publicly; (d) communications the Customer sends through the Service; (e) the Customer's scheduling and operational decisions; or (f) the Customer's misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms. This section applies only to Licensed customers, not to participants or public visitors.
13. Sponsorships and underwriting
Oppo may display platform sponsorships (underwriting) on public league sites and, in limited cases, on signed-in family portal pages. Sponsorships are vetted by Oppo, labeled as sponsors, and are not an endorsement of any league's content, teams, or decisions. Sponsorships are not sold by leagues through the Service in this capacity; they are platform-level placements.
In the future, we may offer sponsor-supported messages included in communications sent through the Service under league or platform controls. We would not sell recipient contact lists to sponsors for that purpose. That mailer capability is not active today.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access—including public, participant, or Customer access—for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service. Customers may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Oppo is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local law applies.
League acknowledgement
This acknowledgement describes the relationship between Oppo and a league or district that uses Oppo (or requests access during private beta). It is written for league and district administrators acting for their organization. It supplements—and does not replace—the Terms of Service. If there is any conflict, the Terms control.
1. Purpose
Leagues and districts that use Oppo are Licensed customers under the Terms. This acknowledgement restates, in platform-to-league terms, how the organization may use the Service and what Oppo versus the league is responsible for—so administrators know what they are agreeing to when they request access or operate a workspace.
2. How a league may use the platform
When provisioned, a league or district receives a Customer workspace on Oppo. Depending on plan, configuration, and beta availability, administrators may use the Service to manage schedules and events, rosters and divisions, facilities and blackouts, staff roles, volunteer assignments, family or participant portals, and a public league site or calendar feeds the organization chooses to publish. Features may change during private beta.
Access is for the organization's legitimate league or district operations. Customer administrators configure who on their staff may use the workspace, which participant features are enabled, and what schedule or program information appears publicly.
3. Oppo's role
Oppo provides and operates the Service: hosting, software, and the tools needed to run the features the Customer enables. Oppo processes league-administered data on the Customer's instructions to deliver those features, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Oppo is not the program authority. Oppo does not set league rules, determine player eligibility, decide official game times or venues for the organization, or replace the league's own policies toward families and participants. Schedules, messages, and published pages may contain errors or change; Oppo does not warrant that any particular schedule or communication is complete or correct. The league remains responsible for operational decisions made with the Service.
4. League responsibilities
As the Customer, the league or district (through its administrators) is responsible for:
- entering and maintaining accurate roster, household, coach, player, schedule, facility, and contact information for its programs;
- obtaining any required consents from families and participants, and complying with the organization's own policies and applicable law;
- inviting staff, configuring roles and access, and keeping credentials and invite links secure;
- reviewing schedules, assignments, and communications before relying on them or publishing them to families or the public;
- deciding what appears on the public league site or calendar feeds, and correcting errors promptly when they are discovered.
Customers may stop using the Service at any time. Oppo may suspend or terminate Customer access for violations of the Terms or to protect the Service, as described in the Terms.
5. Families and participants
Families, coaches, and other participants access Oppo because the league invited or enrolled them—for example through a family portal link or staff invitation. Their primary relationship for program rules, roster data, and league policies is with the league or district, not with Oppo. Participants are not Oppo customers and do not license the platform separately.
The plan and billing relationship sits with the league or district organization. Families and other participants are not charged by Oppo for platform access under that Customer arrangement.
6. Private Beta
During private beta, expressing interest—such as submitting a request on our sign-up form—does not create a license, guarantee access, or establish a Customer relationship. Features, availability, capacity, and pricing may change. When Oppo provisions a league or district, the Licensed customers terms in the Terms of Service and this acknowledgement apply to that use.
7. Contact and questions
Questions about this acknowledgement, the Terms, or how leagues use Oppo? Email OppoWorksInfo@gmail.com or visit our contact page. For how we handle personal information, see the Privacy Policy.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use Oppo as a public visitor, participant, or licensed customer. Leagues may also have their own privacy notices for program participants.
Roles: controller and processor
For account and platform operations—including security, telemetry, and beta interest submissions—Oppo acts as a data controller. For roster, household, player, schedule, and family data entered by a league, the league or district is typically the data controller and Oppo processes that data on the Customer's instructions to provide the Service.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, league or organization memberships, and active context selections for Customer staff and other account holders.
- Beta and contact interest: when you request beta access or contact us, we collect your name, email, league name, optional message, preferred plan (if selected), and referral source so we can respond about availability.
- League operational data: teams, divisions, players, coaches, households, contact details (such as phone and email where provided), schedules, events, assignments, blackouts, locations, facilities, availability responses, and announcements.
- Family portal and participant data: household account names, magic-link access sessions, optional contact or availability updates, and portal activity related to schedules and assignments.
- Usage and telemetry: page views and operational events (for example logins, setting changes, and content changes) tied to an organization or league where applicable, including limited page-view signals on public pages.
- Feedback: page path, optional page title, helpfulness and ease ratings, suggestions, and—unless you submit anonymously—your user identifier or family account name.
- Email and messaging delivery metadata: records of magic-link, notification email, and (where enabled) SMS delivery requests (addresses or numbers, delivery status, and redacted token metadata; not full message bodies). Communications to participants are sent at the Customer's direction.
- Weather data: forecast and historical weather values fetched for league locations to support scheduling features.
- Billing and plan data: subscription tier, usage limits, and related administrative metadata for organizations and leagues (Customers).
- Sponsorship delivery logs: which sponsor creative was shown, on which page path and league surface, and when—used to operate underwriting placements. These logs do not include household or player contact details.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, timestamps, abuse-prevention signals, and cookies needed to operate sessions and secure the Service—including for public visitors where no account session exists.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, secure, and improve the Service;
- authenticate users and enforce access controls;
- send transactional messages such as sign-in links and league notifications directed by a Customer;
- respond to beta interest and contact requests;
- analyze product usage and review user feedback;
- deliver and measure platform sponsorship placements;
- comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We do not provide household, player, or contact lists to sponsors. We may share aggregate sponsorship delivery metrics (for example impression counts by creative or region) with underwriting partners. We share data with service providers that help us host, email, message, and operate the platform, under contractual safeguards. League administrators can see data for their league according to role permissions. Content a Customer publishes on a public league site is visible to anyone who can access that site. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Customers should export or delete season data according to their own retention policies when programs end. Beta interest records are kept as needed to manage outreach and capacity.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information. Participants should contact their league first for roster and household data. Public visitors and account holders may contact us for platform-related privacy questions at OppoWorksInfo@gmail.com. Customers manage exports and deletion of league operational data according to their retention needs.
Children's Privacy
Oppo is used by youth sports leagues. Leagues may enter player names, team assignments, and related scheduling information for minors. Parents and guardians typically access schedules and assignments through the family portal using links provided by the league.
Limited schedule-related information about minors may appear on a public league site only to the extent the Customer chooses to publish it. Leagues remain responsible for what they make public and for obtaining any parental consent required for the data they upload.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. Leagues are responsible for directing families to the correct portal access. If you believe a child's information was submitted improperly, contact us at OppoWorksInfo@gmail.com.
